Colin's alternate biographical worlds are inspired by a hybrid interest in natural history, folklore, and science fiction. The resulting sculptures, installations, and stop-motion films represent a collection of odd narratives inspired by fantastical interpretations of nature throughout human history.

In 2016, Colin launched Galleon as his artist-in-residence project at The University at Albany Museum of Art's “Future Perfect: Picturing the Anthropocene”.  The installation was featured as a working studio and production set of the stop-motion science-fiction documentary film for the duration of the exhibit. https://www.albany.edu/futureperfect/

Other exhibitions include Mass MoCA Kidspace, Opalka Gallery at Sage College, Albany Institute of History and Art, College of William and Mary and public art installation of Cormorants and the Whale (2012-2017) at Albany International Airport. 

In 2008, Colin co-founded Collar Works Art Gallery in Troy, NY, a non-profit arts venue for advancing careers of under-represented and emerging artists. Colin has worked as the Art Studio Technician and as a guest lecturer in animation and sculpture at Middlebury College since 2013.  Since 2023, his role at Middlebury College includes being the Director of the Johnson Studio Building and the Manager and Curator of the Johnson Exhibition Gallery, a teaching gallery hosting both professional and rising artists.
